An unusual brass letter plate
A somewhat unusual, large, two tone brass letter plate. Solidly constructed from yellow brass and pink brass or bronze. Suitable for all modern mail sizes and most Sunday newspapers. The flap on this plate fits flush with the surrounding frame presenting a flat
face to the outside. Unfortunately this flat shiny face makes it impossible for this distinctly amateur photographer
to get a good front on picture, hence the angled views. The frame is chamfered so the flap fits snugly. There is some surface
character that we have left in place and it looks like, at some time in its life, the plate was chrome or nickel plated. There
was no plating to the front when we found this item. We have left the reverse as found apart from a good clean and a new spring
and spindle. A different approach to the letter box concept. Supplied complete with two long replacement fixing studs, nuts and
washers as required.
