Hardwood Door Knobs, interesting mechanism
An interesting pair of hardwood (Oak) door knobs reclaimed and refinished in the original style. The width/thickness adjustment mechanism is particularly interesting to those of us who find such things so. Each end of the spindle has a threaded hole which takes a long machine screw nestled in a brass cup. To adjust the knobs, remove the plastic end caps, remove the brass locking screw and unscrew the machine screw. Put the spindle through the door/lock, replace the knob, screw in the machine screw allowing ¼ - ½ mm free play, replace the brass locking screw followed by the end cap. Both ends are adjustable giving range of 5cm - 8m combined door/lock thickness and providing the perfect fit. One end cap as a small chip, see images for more details.
